New 2021 Spring Harvest.
This is the traditional heavier oxidized and roasted version of Tung Ting Oolong. Hand harvested and processed, this is a delicious dark oolong brews to a medium dark ochre color with hints of sweet plum, toasted cereal, and dark caramel. This is one of THE oolong for our Lugu, Nantou area, and one of our consistent award winning tea in the Lugu tea competitions.
This is a perfect tea for aging. This oolong tea will become darker and the flavor will become more rounded with deeper plum notes. Age for a minimum 3 to 5 years to see a noticeable difference.
Brewing Instruction: 3g (about 1 teaspoon) of tea per 1 cup (250ml) of hot boiling water. Let brew for 3 minutes. Strain & enjoy. Subsequent brews will require longer and longer brewing time.
Alternatively, you can do a 1 second of the tea in hot boiling water to bloom the tea prior to brewing.
Storage Instruction: Store in a tightly sealed bag or container away from moisture, light, or strong smell. Excellent Oolong for aging. To age, store the oolong in a traditional tea canister away from moisture and light. It will surprise you in 5+ years.
